I did the basic default things. I could not uninstall as I would get a message noting I needed administrative permission. I did reboot in native Windows instead of through Parallels, which did finally allow me to uninstall and reinstall. I did reinstall the program and the same issue came up as though the program never uninstalled. I got the 'change report font' window and then once that closed, I got the error window about not having 'locked into memory' for a printer therefore I will not have access to a printer. Now I have a 'legacy warning message' window that has no information to read it is just a white space. I tried to delete the home folder because the help page on legacy stated this is what to do when I got an error message. I did not end up deleting the home folder because of administrator privileges being denied.
Thanks for the help Renee Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy 8 starts very slow and odd windows show up From: [email protected] Date: Sun, 27 Apr 2014 23:55:43 -0500 To: [email protected] Reinstall/repair from program files in control panel. Deleting folder on C drive does not properly repair issues and may cause more actually. When I close this window, another minute or two pass and then an error window noting I do not have access to a printer. When I close this window, the Legacy start box opens and more than two minutes later, my files finally open. The program is then fairly quick. When I select a report to print, the printer setup the program hangs. I tried to delete the home folder Legacy 8 on my c: drive so that I can reinstall, but it says the action cannot be completed because there is a file open in another program. Any help would be appreciated.
