Mike,
I do have a default printer selected if that is what you are referring to for 
Windows.
While I was typing this response, I finally was able to uninstall Legacy 8 and 
download and reinstall successfully. Before I reinstalled I selected a 
different default printer and success. The program opened quickly without all 
of the windows opening. The appearance is different, but I am up and running 
again, fingers crossed.
Thanks much for the printer nudge. I guess if this happens again I will change 
the default printer to something else.
