Same here. I had this same problem more often several Builds back. I'm currently using Build 8.0.0.414 and it only happens occasionally.
As you mentioned, I have to exit out of sources then re-enter to see the new source. It would be hard to reproduce since it doesn't happen all the time. I frequently link images with my sources so I figured that might be the cause. Just entering a source or modifying a source in the same manner as always will sometimes create the new source immediately and sometimes you have to exit and re-enter the master source list for it to appear. I have also noticed that when you enter a new person then select index view that new person is not visible. You have to go to file maintenance and select one of the choices. You do not have to run it, just exit and the person appears.
