There's no in between status, but there certainly is an Unknown!
If I haven't entered any information about Death or Burial, that
may mean the person is still alive or it may mean that I don't know.

It's the same for Sex -- even though there are only two actual
choices, it is not always known which applies, especially the way
parents are naming their children these days!
