I'm glad you asked this question. It reminds me that there may not be, in
fact, any "standard" bindings for F-keys.

This article deals with keyboard shortcuts generally:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_shortcut

I had never heard the term "sacred binding". In particular, the sacred
bindings for Ctrl-B, Ctrl-I and Ctrl-U are to commands that create bold,
italics and underlined text, respectively. There is a plugin that creates
these bindings, but it is not enabled by default.

This article deals with F-keys specifically:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Function_key

Only F1 (Help) appears to be in general use. Leo does bind F1 to Help by
default.

In short, it does not appear useful to create additional default binding
for F-keys.

P.S. Here are the key labels on a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard:

F1: Help
F2: Undo
F3: Redo
F4: New
F5: Open
F6: Close
F7: Reply (will not be bound in Leo)
F8: Fwd (Ditto)
F9: Send (Ditto)
F10: Spell
F11: Save
F12: Print (will not be found in Leo, probably)
