Nah, Clinton just happened to be the president in office when those sanctions had the most effect. But it really doesn't matter who started it, since no one has talked about it in the mainstream media, except for the brief coverage of Ward Churchill and his essay "Some People Push Back." The Democrats are keeping their mouths shut because it was their golden boy who stood by and did nothing. The thing I find the most ironic about it is how the U.N. was the mouth piece for the sanctions. I thought the U.N. was supposed to ensure peace and save lives, I thought wrong. Justified genocide I guess, Sadaam should be proud of us.
