Saved from what? "Hell and damnation", "sins of the flesh",
"hedonism", "moral weakness", "lewd and lascivious behavior", and
a whole slew of other "vices" that are entirely religious. But
even if you have the intentions correct (and they are not
religious), if you don't think the action of forcefully stepping
in to save one from him self is intolerance, then I don't
understand your definition of intolerance. You seem to be
defending intolerance based on the intention. Maybe you should
get with Eric and plan to set an appointment to both set down and
actually THINK about the core libertarian issues of force and
consent.

By indicating you think Islam-terrorist harm is a greater threat
to Americans than drug-war harm AND that drug war violence is
largely self-incurred (not caused by the drug war), you certainly
minimize drug-war harm.

{American jurors have complete Constitutional authority to vote
"not guilty" based on nothing more than a disagreement with the
case, no matter the evidence - despite the judge's instructions.
There is absolutely no obligation to vote "guilty" to arrive at a
unanimous verdict. Get on a jury, stand your ground, and fulfill
its other main purpose: to counteract abusive government and
unjust lawsuits.

I disagree that prohabition is a result of religious intolerance.
I
believe it is more representative of the moral opinion that
people
need to be 'saved' from themselves. I do not equate this with
intolerence.
I have never minimized the harm. The real irony is that the
legal
drugs, nicotine and tobacco, are cause MORE devestation to
people's
lives than the illegal. One MORE reason why I have been
consistently
against prohabition for over 20 years.
