You are right, he was not a Muslim.  But one of the main reasons he 
stated for murdering Fortuyn was his "perceived anti-Muslim 
stance."  The Euro-media tried to play it up like he was an agrieved 
animal rights activist.  Hardly.  He was an agrieved ant-Fortuyn 
activist whose main motivation was stopping Fortuyn from being 
elected so that he wouldn't impose stricter immigration laws on 
Muslim immigrants, which would further water-down the Dutch culture 
of tolerance.
