Election of 1864.  Not one single ballot was recorded from any military
person to the former General McClellan.  It was actually easy for this to
happen as there was no government ballot.  The parties printed their own
ballots, with only their candidates names ( POTUS candidates names didn't
appear, but rather the parties candidates for Electoral College).  See Jeff
Hummels book "Emancipating Slaves, Enslaving Free Men".
