If tough talk can make the enemy back down without firing shots, then all the better. The Cold War killed a lot of people, but it ended rather orderly and peacefully. The tough talk by US officials and the nutcase Iranian president are getting even the evil Iranian clerics worried. It's not crazy to think the clerics might remove Ahmadinejad as a result by tough US talk. Similar talk and actions by Reagan made the Soviets back off without a hot war between the US and USSR.
