Google's choice of its own typefaces is not a justification for us choosing its
typefaces. Also, typeface choices of mobile phones are of little relevance to
choices for desktops and of limited relevance for laptops, and those are the
two main kinds of machines LO is used on.

IIANM, XFCE and KDE seem to use Noto Sans by default, and GNOME uses Cantarell
(maybe they've switcher to Inter?). Various distributions set their own
defaults on some of the DEs: Fedora uses Note, LMDE uses DejaVu sans etc.
There's an Ubuntu typeface used on many Ubuntu distributions. Nost sure that
"most" distribution/DE combos use Noto, but the statistics may bear that out.
