As I recall,I can fill up my 340MB microdrive with MP3s in about 7 minutes with my USB 1.1. That works out to 4.8MB/min which is pretty slow considering the maximum optimaized transfer depending on system hardware for USB1.1 is rated at 1.5MB/sec. That's MB as in Bytes, not Mb as bits.

Correction... that 4.8MB/min should be 48MB/min, or .8MB/sec which sounds about right. But after thinking aabouit it bit longer, I remembered that was actually a transfer rate for my PCMCIA CF reader to the Lib, not a USB1.1 reader ro the Lib.

I just timed copying 340MB of MP3s to my microdrive via the USB1.1 reader, and it was considerably slower at 11:38 minutes. That''s only 30MB/min or 5MB/sec.

I remain really curious to see what kinds of transfer speeds can be had with a USB2.0 card on a L1x0.

Matt
