I wondered if that might cause confusion! Okay, the drive is a Sony
CRXP-90MU USB2.0 DVD/CDRW with a Memory Stick slot. Basically two drives
in one (a big reason for me getting it as it saves me from using my Clie
as the MS drive all the time). Look it up if you like, might make things
a bit clearer. It's a silver drive, squarish, slightly larger than a
regular CD.

Yes I did get your follow up message, but I thought it best to post the
results in this one. I've heard that MS read rates are pretty slow
anyway, and write operations are half the speed again . . .

Yes, it's a Nomad Zen . . . just used to saying 'Zen' so much I assumed
people would know what i'm talking about! My brother has been trying it
on his new Dell with USB2.0 and it's says it's FAST . . . A prime
subject for testing I think!

Oh I shall be . . . he's posted to the RAF base in the backend of
Scotland, I live in Cheshire and i'm meeting him in Lincolnshire on
Thursday/Friday for his passing out ceremony. So it'll be lots of quick
tests over the few days i'll be seeing him. Good job i've got a very
portable machine . . .

Will do! Stay tuned to this channel for more fantastic news yet to come!

You'd have a fit at my setup :

233MMX
64MB RAM
40GB Hitachi/IBM Travelstar -
   8GB 'C'
   10GB 'D'
   4GB 'E'
   10GB 'F'
   ~5.3GB 'G' (rest of disk)
XP Pro (with lots and lots of cutdowns found on the web - actually runs
pretty well)

Nick.
