Paul,

Thanks again.  I don't have any USB2 gear either - it seems close to 
impossible to buy a USB1.1 PCMCIA/USB card now though.  All the cards I've 
come across are USB2.  I appreciate the info on the external power.  It'd be 
goofy to carry around a big old transformer with my svelte Libretto just to 
run a USB port!
