Ok, I think I'm starting to get everything under control now.
Nobody has commented on the release note so I guess it's approved.
However, after reading commit comments, I've only found one name to add
under acknowledgments (Sergey Kononenko). All other commits were either
done by us core developers or updates from the translators.
If anyone can think of anyone more that's helped us, please add them.

We should not aim for three releas candidates. Instead aim for one rc
(possibly two) and only release rc X+1 if a serious enough bug is
found in rc X. Except translations, nothing should change between the
last rc and final release.
Ok, so rc1 as soon as I've gotten everything ready, and in two weeks
either final package or rc2 with new attempts once per week until the
final release is done.

I'll be available on the weekends, but I can also add you as an admin

your username is on SF?
I've just created an account, I used "flynd" there as well.
Also, was there a script for updating freshmeat that you were going to
commit?

I've create my key and uploaded it (default server was
hkp://keys.gnupg.net according to config file).
For anyone who wants to sign it, the fingerprint is:
