It should certainly be possible to use the VoIP port on the router, even though the VoIP service and basic internet access are provided by different ISPs. It took a little research because most people just plug the dongle directly into a USB port on their computer, which uses different 3G network-configuration variables. I was surprised to find a 3G dongle uses the same Hayes AT-commands as an old dial-up modem from long ago.
