They often don't have a choice. Every so often you hit someone who will tell you so. Don't try to carry it further - the man may lose his job.

The problem is that most of them are like that. The only exception I personally know are actcom. Even that comes at a price. Their quality comes at the expense of quantity. You often wait quite a while for them to pick up the line. At least it's a toll-free number (only one in Israel, as far as I know, to have a toll free support number).

This is not to say that my experience with them has been totally problem free. Just that they seem, on the face of it, better than most.
