Kedar,

I have the Samsung E-IDE HDD, 8.4 GB and I believe it is close to 7000+
rpm. I have been able to get 14 MBPS from disk-reads only with

hdparm -c1 -d1 /dev/hda

Though the performance for disk reads has become more than 6 times just
by this command... nearly, should I have a cause for concern already?
Should I find out what my motherboard is doing to my HDD?

Anybody using the Samsung 8.4 GB [EIDE]HDD? Please run

hdparm -tT /dev/hda

and let us know when you get disk-read rates >10 MBPS

Thanks
Rohit
