Well it might not be a big problem unless he had repartitioned the
hard disk. If he had, i don't know of any solution unless he has written
down the exact start and end sectors given by linux fdisk. Even they might
be useless if he has reformatted the disk.
Well I hope for the best and assume that he has only *installed*
the windoze, without repartitioning.
If that is the case: cheers :-)
boot from the pcq june 6.2 cd, on the boot prompt enter "linux
rescue". then make a directory say /disk.
mount -t ext2 /dev/hda1 /disk (this will probably not give any
error but would not mount /dev/hda1 either, here i assume it to be doze
partition.) keep on trying with /dev/hdxx untill u get the partition
mounted. An indication of being mounted will be that it will take a bit of
time. or u can enter the dir /disk to check if it has been mounted.
once u are able to mount the / of your linux partition, cd into it
and check the /disk/etc/fstab. read the partitions from it ,mount them wrt
/disk. Then do a chroot /disk. and voila :)
check the /etc/lilo.conf and then do lilo -v
And hope for the best :-)
