It also helps to keep a copy of your Master Boot record (which includes
data for the 4 primary partitions) - You can restore this in case
you find that your MBR got corrupted due to some reason.
Use the following command (as root) to do it.
dd if=/dev/hda of=filename_to_save_to bs=512 count=1
