On linux fdisk type u, and then p. and note down whatever you see. u can
create partitions exactly by the sector numbers. try n on linux fdisk if u
have some empty space and it will ask you the starting/ending in sectors.

        I have successfully recovered/altered my partitions using this
infomation.

        I know there is some other way also, you can dump the raw image of
partition table using fdisk etc..., but I hope this is the best way.( No
chance of fd/hd corruption :)
