first of all , I am sorry for being unable to get in
touch with this list
since my internet connection was creating problems. Also I had trouble
getting my
father to buy me another HPDeskjet610C black cartridge(~Rs.1200 :-( ) ).
Anyway everything is O.K. now and I'll start checking out the tips I
received from
all those who responded.
BTW, the tip by [EMAIL PROTECTED] perhaps , is not applicable to this
particular printer ( Deskjet 610C ).
Also today I had tried CUPS, had a little trouble with it, but got it going
at last.
Dj610C is supported but econofast mode is still not available .
I will try out the `reduction of resolution ' trick pointed to by Sreangsu
Acharyya.
Till then, bye . Do keep sending in suggestions . (I badly need to get this
econofast mode working in Linux.)
