Downloaded it but then found out that I would have to compile it along with
Ghostscript to get it working. I don't have the 'tar .gz' version of
Ghostscript. Only the 'rpm' version.
So, I could not benefit from this driver.  But it made me optimistic.
Perhaps I will soon get
an rpm version of ghostscript that has ' hpdj ' integrated into it  :-)

IT WORKED !! ( Though it uses a little more ink than that used by the Win'98
driver in 'econofast' mode.
But the difference is minor.)
Wow!  I am printing in economy mode in Linux ( using -dQuality=-1 ) using my
HPDeskjet610C.
A million million thanks !

I am waiting eagerly for the 'hpdj' driver to come in 'rpm' format .
Perhaps it will allow me to use the  'real  econofast mode' !!

BTW which document contains the various options ( such as values of  Quality
option )
available for a printer driver ??
