Well actually it has more probability of working than not, for it makes
sense to have the same control string to support the same functionality.
Just try ot out.

I actually was not too happy with this, once i had tried. The prints came
out blocky but hardly "economical". But one of my friends said it worked
for him. On the otherhand gamma correction gave me better results.
Heres something more you can try out. From root fire printtool. Select
your printer from the printer que for editing. From there select the
option for setting the input filter. The printers deskjet-1000,
deskjet-720 and deskjet-820 have support for econmode. You can try those
out just for experimentations sake.
