I will give it a try. I installed Linux on a Thinkpad 385XD and didn't see a way to set APM BIOS options in the BIOS setup. I had to boot Windows and use IBM's APM setting thingie, which I think was in the control panel, or maybe a little unrecognizable icon on the right side of the toolbar.
