It is not necessary to downgrade the 380/385 BIOS or that of most other ThinkPads (don't know anything about these newer models though). Just #undef APM_NOINTS while compiling the kernel. imc (TP380D, BIOS 1.11 or something). PS there should be a FAQ for this group. The SysVinit/poweroff question would be in it. :-)
