I hate to followup myself, but it is necessary here. Yesterday I
tested APM with 2.2.0pre6 again after I deleted the hibernation
file. The effect is that then Suspend is the same as Standby, so apm
-s does the same as apm -S. No difference.

I am not sure whether Standby is a safe mode to travel with a
laptop. Does anyone know if it is ?
