Yes, Wav files are stored in RIFF format, with proper headers and such.

As an audio track. In Gnometoaster, all you have to do is drag your file
into the Tracklist (the second button to the lower left of the window).

It sure will. Just add it to your list of audio tracks to be recorded.

No it wasn't cause with Gnometoaster all you have to do is drag your
file from the builtin filemanager into the tracklist.
You can recognize gcdmaster by it's waveeditor-like look.
You can get Gnometoaster from http://gnometoaster.rulez.org

It's slow but works decently on a fast system.
Imho the standard theme is too loaded, though.I'll stick to Gnome for
that matter.

You don't need to convert it.
As mentioned, just drag it into Gnometoaster's tracklist and everything
should be ok.
But *please* upgrade to the most recent version of gnometoaster. the
version coming with mandrake is about a year old and can be tricky to
configure at times.

Gnometoaster can use cdrdao as a backend.
If you want to use cdrdao from the commandline, type man cdrdao
to get a description of the toc file format used by cdrdao.

Subject: Calendar Software
Date: Sat, 03 Feb 2001 12:12:56 GMT

I am trying to find server and client software that allows for
scheduling meetings, etc like the way MS Exchange and Outlook.
Naturally I am looking for open-source based stuff. I would like to
setup a calendar system in my home network so that my family can
coordinate their schedules. I have a Linux server and different
flavors of MS Windows clients (Windows 95, Windows 2000, Windows ME).

Can anyone give me some pointers?

Ron

Lots. Read the Printing-HOWTO, should be all in there.

Apparently, the American NSA agrees:

      http://www.zdii.com/industry_list.asp?mode=news&doc_id=ZD2681205

I love the last line:

In a nod to the open-source community, he said that--for the NSA's
purposes--seeing the source code and testing its security is extremely
important. "You wouldn't want to do it on Windows NT, because you know
nothing about what is going on inside NT," he said.

As if Ballmer didn't have enough headaches already... :)

Subject: scanner troubles

I just bought a UMAX Astra 1220S scanner and what a surprise it was when
I found out upon opening the box that the SCSI card they shipped is an
ISA card. Of course all my ISA slots are full. I am hoping they will
send me a PCI card. Anyway I have another option by buying a PCI
Ethernet card to replace the ISA card I have., then using this slot for
the Scanner SCSI card. If I were to go this route does anyone have any
idea about drivers for this card, as there is of course no information
in the manual about the card. The controller on the card has the
following ids printed on it.

DTCT-436P
9746
002-D436P-001

Anybody ever heard of/used the SCSI card that comes with this scanner?

Thanks,
Robert

You seem to have lots of memory. Recall that you have about 114
megabytes of memory devoted to cache and buffers and this space can be
used for programs when needed.

I guess your distribution is very different from mine. I do not remember

a surprise to see them missing.

You have a couple of choices:

1) Get the PCI Ethernet (a 3C905 is my recommendation) and then get
a Adaptec 154x ISA SCSI card (these should be cheap). (UMAX should be
happy with the Adaptec 154x card).

2) Get an Adaptec 2940AU card (this is SCSI-II, *narrow* card).
This is a PCI card and should also be cheap (since SCSI-III / wide is
all the rage these days). The UMAX should be happy with this card as
well.

Linux will be happy with either Adaptec card. Warning: make sure your
BIOS is set to reserve the IRQ the Adaptec 154x ISA wants. Don't get
an Adaptec 154xP (plug-and-play version) -- these work, but are a minor
pain -- your need to turn off plug-and-play.

Aaron R. Kulkis
Unix Systems Engineer
DNRC Minister of all I survey
ICQ # 3056642

H: "Having found not one single carbon monoxide leak on the entire
premises, it is my belief, and Willard concurs, that the reason
you folks feel listless and disoriented is simply because
    you are lazy, stupid people"

I: Loren Petrich's 2-week stubborn refusal to respond to the
challenge to describe even one philosophical difference
between himself and the communists demonstrates that, in fact,
Loren Petrich is a COMMUNIST ***hole

J: Other knee_jerk reactionaries: billh, david casey, redc1c4,
The retarded sisters: Raunchy (rauni) and Anencephielle (Enielle),
also known as old hags who've hit the wall....

A: The wise man is mocked by fools.

B: Jet Silverman plays the fool and spews out nonsense as a
method of sidetracking discussions which are headed in a
   direction that she doesn't like.

C: Jet Silverman claims to have killfiled me.

D: Jet Silverman now follows me from newgroup to newsgroup
   ...despite (C) above.

E: Jet is not worthy of the time to compose a response until
   her behavior improves.

F: Unit_4's "Kook hunt" reminds me of "Jimmy Baker's" harangues against
adultery while concurrently committing adultery with Tammy Hahn.

G: Knackos...you're a retard.
