Subject: Impossible to get a ppp connection.
Dear Jose,
I too had a very hard time getting a connection with my isp. I read
alot, wrote a few scripts, tried with some of the "easy" x-windows
programs like netconfig and xisp but just couldn't make it happen.
Then I heard from somewhere, MY isp expected my login to begin
with a capitol " P " ! ! In DOS and Win95 I had used
" jondowd " to login, followed by my password. What MY isp
actually needs to see is " Pjondowd " !! P as in "ppp" (?).
( I guess Win95 software automatically does add the P ).
Anyway... Try adding an uppercase P at the beginning of your
username and see if that works for you...
I'm quite new (and also frustrated with the steep L.curve) so you
might also check back and see what the more experienced say.
GOOD LUCK !
