Don't give up!!!
When I first set up a ppp connection in Linux it took me three
days and what I had to do was cut and paste a big long command
into my command line...not really sexy, but functional. At any
rate, you're right...it's a learning curve. The docs that I
found to be most helpful were PPP-HOWTO and ISP-Hookup-HOWTO
(especially the PPP-HOWTO). It's a *big* document, but it
should get you through this. Whatever you do, don't give up
and go back to "that other operating system out of Redmond".
Linux is well worth learning, but there will be a lot of
frustration along the way. Just keep in contact with us and we'll
get you through it.
