I just installed KDE on my linux box, and none of the libraries are
commercial.  I was able to get everything free from KDE.org.  I believe that
QT used to be commercial, but it has now been Opensourced (I am not sure
about GPL'ed or not).  And, They have binaries and sources.  Since I am
using a Slackware distribution, I got the sources.  It takes a while to
compile the sources, but once compiled, everything has worked pretty well...
