I use WindowMaker. The reason I use it is two-fold: cosmetic and user
interface. I like WindowMaker's look and the overall feel of it suits me. I
particularly like the shading of windows -- I constantly find myself
double-clicking on the title bars of Windows machines when I use them. ;-)
You're right; this is a highly subjective area.
I also like the look of Enlightenment, but never got around to learning all
of the different icons and capabilities of it. I used to use fvwm primarily
for efficiency, but today with dirt cheap RAM, that's become less of a
priority.
