HUH?  Superuser status is not attached to a person, but to a userid,
normally named 'root'.  If you know the superuser's userid and password,
you are the superuser, otherwise otherwise.  If you have physical
control of the machine, you can use the rescue option of the RedHat
install floppy to change the superuser's password.

Your average IDE CD can be plugged in just like an IDE HD.  That is how
my mighty 2x Sony CDU55E is hooked up on /dev/hdb.  I think kernel
support for 'em is pretty standard.  You also need ISO9660 filesystem
support, which is also pretty standard.
