I ran xf86config.I have been able to use Gnome only when I choose the
XF86_VGA16 as Server type.Whenever I try to use XF86_SVGA server my system
hangs and I have to reboot.I have a Cirrus Logic 5446 card that is listed
in the cards database as well as it gets detected at the time of setup.I
have a Philips 7CM5289 SVGA monitor that has a horizontal freq.of 31.5-35.5
and Vertical Freq.of 70-87 with resolutions of 640x480,800x600 and 1024x768
interlaced.
The only problem with using the XF86_VGA16 server is that the objects on
the screen are huge and I cannot use most of them.Is there a workaround?
