Steve,

your soundcard occupies the same irq as parport0. I don't know how
parport handles this but I'd say you should have sound compiled only as
a module.
Apart from this, I can't think of anything else :-(

This is normally done in the BIOS/Integrated peripherals/Parallel port
mode or something similar.
