I've never used SANE before, but these things are usually pretty well
documented - if I'm at the next meeting/workshop, I'll lend a hand where I
can. If it's supported (and "stable" even, woohoo) then damit, we should be
able to make it go. Having a net connection to look up docs helps a LOT
though (is one available at the meeting hall?) - I suggest you take a copy of
any of the helpful sites and documents you've found about this on the web.
Especially "HOW-TO"s, they're usually invaluable. And, like I say, *if* I'm
at the next meeting (don't know if I will be or not yet) I'd be happy to lend
a hand. I think (hope) others would too?

I think people would be helpful, even those with no sane experience, and I
hope I'm not speaking out of turn here. But I figure if someone doesn't say
something, it's easy for people like Chris to get the mistaken impression
that nobody wants to help them. Kinda like Jason's "split meetings" idea,
which it seems (again, I hope I'm not speaking out of turn here) people are
generally in favour of, but at the time he initially suggested it I just
thought "oh yeah, that's a good idea" but didn't say anything (the old "no
'me too' posts" rule/ethic) - and I think a lot of people did the same,
leaving the impression that nobody liked the idea. Ok, sorry to ramble on,
but I hope everyone sees what I'm saying? I think, in some circumstances
(when people suggest an idea, or ask for help at a workshop, etc) "stating
the obvious" and "me too" posts should probably be encouraged. ie. if a few
other people "me too" this post, Chris will probably feel more interested and
confident in bringing his machine to the meeting, and not feel left out, or
like nobody wants him to.

Cheers,
Gareth
