Hummm...

1. I'm sure I could manage to get a team of willing ADSL users to dl the 
updates to keep a local mirror up to date...

2. ISP's in AU with < 1000 broadband customers were able to do this...  Xtra 
has 60 - 70k of users.

Ok I'll leave the flame there on that one :)

Hummm....  this one on the other hand...

The SCX is runnning about about 10% capacity at present.  2 years ago they 
had marketing companies writting reports for them about how they could get 
more customers using more capacity.

I talked extensively with the consultant working on the project.

The biggest issue is local loop access and not international data - hence the 
reason I'm interested in this wireless stuff.

ROFL!  I like your sense of humour...

They're not evil as much as needing a little wise direction and pushing from 
time to time IMHO :)
