Yes, I intentionally ignored the networking side of things but it does need attention. I was trying to stay as on topic as possible (I don't think it worked though). > What about voice mail/IVR requirements? Asterisk does this out of the box. The cost here would be a voice to do the recordings and possibly a consultant to write the dialplan. > Do you actually need phones on every desk? how many of your staff are > using headsets already and could use softphone with a blue tooth head set? > > How many users could be using a USB handset plugged into their PC and > not need a separate terminal? I didn't mention these as I don't really consider them business solutions. To me you need a handset but that is just my thinking. > How many staff could benefit from a switch to PDA solutions? > > What about integrated mobile/sip phones? That is something to think about, the Nokia E series have a built in SIP client and I have seen a few people on the Asterisk list experimenting with them. I don't know if they are there yet but it could be a nice solution when they are. hads -- http://nicegear.co.nz New Zealand's VoIP supplier
