Dude,
assuming i am running a server with mission critical
applications on it , i dont really se ny reason to upgrade to new
kernels or tweaking & reconfiguring it all the time. It's
absolutely loss of productivity on the client side due to down time
of critical applications if one keeps up tweaking around mindlessly
..
.. What u actually should have said is that, one should always
be on the look out & minimize exploits in the OS & increase the
performace levels of m/c.
Philip,
contradictory to what Kiran mentions, I have read about
Linux Proxy & mail servers running for months at a stretch without ny
need for ny manual intervention. Just plug out the Keyboard &
monitor & leave the m/c alone.
