The distributions being different, most of the individual apps
which make up that distribution are seperate entities which have their
own set of coders whose work is then taken and packaged by the individual
package maintainers of the distributions. Thus coding efforts (where most
talented people are needed) are not duplicated while packaging efforts
are. Just means more jobs for people knowing how to create a spec file or
similar fu and change path settings. :>
