Why doesn't Cannonical market STBs with Ubuntu or Ubuntu TV
preinstalled, that can be attached to all TVs through video ports like
HDMI, VGA and Video RCA? An under 10K box will usher in the internet
revolution amongst the Indian masses. All that will be required is a
keyboard, mouse and an MTNL or BSNL broadband connection. As Binand had
suggested for video conferencing, the STB can have a video camera
in-built too. Otherwise the USB port of the STB can support 3G modems
via Ubuntu anyway. Big OEMs may not touch Ubuntu but it has enough funds
to supply finished products to this niche market.
