Sounds like you don't need to run it 24/7 if your carrying it with you
to the office.
Recently you said that you were going to get a Mac computer. (I don't
remember the
details) Why don't you run windows in boot camp? Is there some reason
that won't work?
And if you need to run it in a linux-based VPS I imagine that you
could run that in boot camp.
Of course that could be slow, (running windows in a linux in a VPS in
bootcamp) but  I guess it depends on why you need to run it in a
laptop.
