"I probably need to buy a new laptop with Windows 7. But then how do I get it
to run on Virtual Box, since the new machines don't come with OS media?"

When I say I use virtualbox, I mean I run Linux and have virtualbox
installed. Then I install Window$ on virtualbox. There is a mac
version of virtualbox for OSX:
http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.0.2/VirtualBox-4.0.2-69518-OSX.dmg
I would recommend a decent laptop with a good amount of ram if you
want to run Window$ on Virtualbox; I use a T61p 2.5ghz dual core with
4 gb of ram running Ubuntu 10.04 64bit. I have tested XP with
virtualbox on this the t61p and it work fine. As one might guess,
Virtualbox works wonderfully with Window$ 7 on a dual quadcore with
8gb of ram. Since I am at a university, I have corporate copies of
window$ XP through 7 for university machines.
