You could always try my application. Using a 'fake keycode' of 999 with
a tablet button toggles the stylus between Absolute/Relative. I've
implemented other fake ones for tablet Rotate and stylus PressCurve.

Just uploaded is a major rewrite. Unfortunately it has a dependency of
linuxwacom 0.7.5-2 or later for ALL tablets now (version 0.3.2 only
needed it for a Graphire4). But I believe all the new goodies available
compensate for the inconvenience...
