./configure --enable-wacom
make
make install

then I installed the kernelmodul and copied the wacom_drv.so from
src/xdrv to /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input. The installed xsetwacom is from
0.7.6-3. I tried the wacom_drv.so from prebuilt too, what results in the
same error. But I found out that xidump causes the same output: 

        [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xidump cursor
        X Error: 169 BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device
        Unable to open input device 'cursor'
