then I installed the kernelmodul and copied the wacom_drv.so from
src/xdrv to /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input. The installed xsetwacom is from
0.7.6-3. I tried the wacom_drv.so from prebuilt too, what results in the
same error. But I found out that xidump causes the same output:

       [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xidump cursor
X Error: 169 BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device
Unable to open input device 'cursor'

Sigh..... The error message normally means that the cusor is not reacting
to Wacom X driver. But your cursor is working. And I feel your X
driver works properly. I am out of "tricks" for you now :). Another palce
to look is to check the Xorg.0.log to see if there are any strange
messages related to cursor. Sometime, differences in OS vendors/versions
could cause problem to xsetwacom. That's why in the success story page, I
have a few failed xsetwacom examples.

So, if you have time and are willing to try on a new OS version or vendor,
you may see a difference. Otherwise, wait for my next beta (I could
release the beta quicker if I don't answer questions :) to fix the cursor.
This fix is for everyone in Wacom X driver. Not just for you since I can not
reprduce your xsetwacom issue.
