Thanks Jake,
The Planet has been down 6 times in the last two weeks. They say
it's their provider, but say they have 18 connections coming in and tracert
says it's their routers with the problems. Today they were up and down from
3-6 today, even theplanet.com. Only twice has been during business hours
and less than an hour, but anything over 10 minutes makes my phone lines
light up.
My clients have started to complain. The Planet closed my tickets
requesting an explanation with no explanation. They have double billed me
in the past, among other customer service problems. I've reached my point
of frustration with them and I am thinking of moving my servers.
Now I just have to find someone who doesn't go down! Thanks for the
advice, I'll move on and check out colo4dallas.com. I currently pay around
$700 a month for bandwidth and space, I expect a little quality for my
money, silly me.

A buddy of mine just moved off of them... they shut down his account three
times with "abuse" as the reason. That one word explanation was he could get
out of them, and they never notified him of any problems. He was also having
regular (but not frequent) outages to the facility itself without
notification.
All in all, I'd say look elsewhere. I've heard good things about The Planet
lately.
