I like the hovertruck, but I can't see myself buying it unless I

It's a bit pricey. I wonder how it compares to Tamiya's armor kits in
terms of pricing.

The hovertruck is 5,000 yen

Browsing HLJ, it looks like the older Tamiya kits range about 2,500 yen for a WWII tank to 3,500 for a modern MBT. New Tamiya kits like the French Char B1 Bis released last year are pretty expensive at 4,800 yen. The hovertruck is one huge vehicle though. It looks about the same size as a M1 tank and it does include 5 figures. The Char B1 bis only has one.

Of course Tamiya kits are know for their exquisitely fine detailing. I wonder how the Hard Graph kits do in that regard? They do seem slightly more reasonably priced than EX kits. I do wish the Ranba Ral set had another ground vehicle instead of that big Zaku head.

I consider Keroro Gunso to be gundam spinoff. The Sgt. need to build
himself a custom gunpra that ends up being made into a real kit, kind
of like the Perfect Gundam.

Better yet, Kururu need to build Gundam-influenced mecha suit that
plays some role in a episode (or a few) and that can get turned into a
real kit. I am still hoping to see Aki Hinata Mecha "Autumn H" get
released.

Now we just need a Gundam series where the characters watch Keroro anime and the circle will be complete.

will re-mod this kit to be more consistent with the earlier HGUC
Mk-II's?

Bah, AOZ does nothing for me. I can't believe its still going on. Its
a longer and denser model series than even Sentinel at this point. Is
there even a hint of an eventual end?

OTOH, the other thread kind of opened my eyes to the vitality of the
AoZ community. Actually I kind of feel blind-sided by it. Having not
read a hobby mag for over a year. Maybe my view is very narrow now...
It seems perhaps I don't even qualify as a First fan now.

Same here. I ditched my Hobby Japan and Dengeki subscriptions about a year and a half ago. I still get Gundam Ace, but my enthusiasm for it has really waned. I rather miss the hobby mags. You can get all the new release info and prototype pics on the net but I miss seeing the scratch-builds and kit-bashes.

Is Bandai sending a shot across Hasegawa's bow? This could be FUN!
Yes, I like! This really does seem like it would be more up
Hasegawa's alley. In fact, I think I would have preferred it had been
a Hasegawa release. They do better box art.

Yeah I prefer analog box art too. Isn't it curious that
PG/MG/HG/EX/GC kits are using digital (or photographic, which is
actually also digital) while UCHG is doing analog box art?

Also, I am comfortable with Hasegawa's pricing level for Macross kits,
but I still find EX kits overpriced.

I don't understand why Hasegawa hasn't released kits of the destroids. I'd buy the whole line. Maybe its because Hasegawa only has rights to Shoji Kawamori designs?
