>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> True, but so what? Glamorous to whom? I would love those clowns to finally acknowledge the existence of all the other designs in that universe. So what if they aren't as cool, any kid who buys a good guy model wants to have the bad guy model next to it. And the Destroids can certainly reuse part of their designs, three of them share the same hips/legs sections. And think of the challenge of building a Monster in the same scale as the other Destroids and Valkyries. I bought a 1/48th scale Valkyrie toy (Yamato) because of the cool detail. I'd buy one of each Destroid at that scale before I bought the rest of the Valkyries, to say nothing of owning a couple of the Pods.
Really, Gundams are the most glamorous of mobile suit designs yet there are plenty of lesser known, plainer, less exciting models coming out for other designs, yes? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I totally agree with you. I am just showing the perspective of the marketing department. Personally I would rather have the Destroids, Pods, and TV Queadlunn Rau any day over a Valkyrie. In the same vein I prefer a Monoeye kit over any Gundam kit. The only reason I haven't picked up a Glorious Dom is because Eddie told me how crappy they are. But back to the topic at hand... Gundam has a lot more designs to choose from so they have more incentive to fit in the occasional non-Gundam. But when you look at the overall selection list, they still tend to cater to the Gundam fan over the Monoeye fan EXCEPT when the Master Grade line started and they had 4 different Zakus to only 2 Gundams. I also think a big part of the problem with Macross is that so many companies seem to share the same product. Bandai is making the 1/55 Valkyrie toys while Yamato is making the 1/48 Valkyrie toys. On the other hand you have Hasegawa making the new 1/72 kits while Bandai has been producing reprints of the old 1/144 scale Queadlunn Rau kit as well as the Glaug and Nousjedal Ger on occasions. With Gundam Bandai runs the entire line. How do they determine who has the right to produce what? -------------------------------------------------- The Gundam Mailing List MK-II [email protected] Archives: http://www.gundam.com/gml Help: Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] with this in the BODY: help list
