Having seen the Gundam Base pix, what do you think? I may end up
dropping the 5000 Yens for it, but achieving the WW2 look will be a
challenge for me. At least painting the skin tone won't be a problem
any more. For some odd reason, I've never got good result painting
skin tone on figures.

At the very very least, it's leaps and bounds more detailed than many
(non-ship) EX kits. I am still pissed that the propellers on Gunperry
don't have separated fan blades. No comparison with the hovers on
this one.

And how do you like UCHG box arts so far?

Having seen the G.Base pix, what do you think now? It's an intriguing
decision to go to AoZ styling for GM Quel. I'm holding up my HGUC
Titans Mk.II next to the GM Quel pix, and I have to say the AoZ
styling has a certain attraction, kind of like Ver. Old-School-Katoki.

I don't understand why Hasegawa hasn't released kits of the
destroids. I'd buy the whole line. Maybe its because Hasegawa only
has rights to Shoji Kawamori designs?

I doubt that very much, it's possible they only licensed the
Valkyries, but if it were true, I would say it's their decision not
external constrains. My immediate assumption is that the demand
doesn't justify the investment. But it's probably more complicated
than that. Hasegawa really hasn't demonstrated they can do decent
mecha. I still think Bandai is undisputed king of mecha kits.
Hasegawa has only one or two Battroid kits that, I understand, were
uninspiring.

With EX and UCHG Bandai may prove more capable of expanding into new
territories than Tamiya and Hasegawa.
